“Pacific Marine Mammal Center’s Rescue, Rehabilitation, Release, and Research”

Presented by Kirsten Donald,

Vice President of Education and Ocean Advocacy

Please join us for an overview of the Pacific Marine Mammal Center (PMMC). Learn how Orange County’s only marine mammal hospital rescues marine mammals and provides them with top-notch care for a second chance at life! Kirsten Donald, Vice President of PMMC’s Education and Ocean Advocacy, will share real patient stories and how PMMC contributes to ocean science and conservation through research.

Kirsten is a marine mammal scientist with a Master’s degree from the University of Wales, Bangor, Wales, UK. She began her career in 1996 at the Dolphin Research Center. She has served on the Education and Population Management Task Force Committees of the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums (AMMPA) and has given presentations at various workshops and conferences. Kirsten was thrilled to join the PMMC family in 2015. The opportunity to expand the educational mission of the center and to contribute directly to conservation and research efforts keeps her continuously motivated.
