8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Meeting point: Dana Point Park (near Grout Bay) at 8:00 AM
From there, we’ll loop around the lake, making multiple stops to explore the diverse habitats that make this mountain valley a year-round hotspot for birdlife.
Expect to spend most of the day on foot along easy-to-moderate trails and paths. Bring water, binoculars, layers for changing weather, and a packed lunch to enjoy during one of our scenic stops. We’ll be driving on some dirt roads, but all are suitable for standard vehicles.
We’ll wrap up our day around 4:00 PM, allowing folks to make their way back down the hill before dark.
