Carbon Canyon Bird Walk (P)

Join us for a bi-monthly bird walk at beautiful Carbon Canyon Regional Park, nestled in the Chino Hills of north Orange County. With its diverse habitats and impressive bird list, this is a wonderful place to spend a morning exploring and enjoying the birds.

When: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

The park hosts a wide variety of habitats, including riparian woodland, oak-walnut woodland, coastal sage scrub, and suburban parkland/green space. In total, over 190 species have been seen here, and depending on the time of year, the park hosts bird species such as Hooded Mergansers, Bell’s Vireos, Lark Sparrows, Rock Wren, and Lawrence’s Goldfinch, as well as all of our common migrant warblers, flycatchers, sparrows, orioles. and others.

Meeting Location: Picnic tables near the entrance kiosk.

Park Entrance Fee: $5 if you do not have an OC Parks Pass.

From CA-57, head east on Lambert Road for approximately 2.5 miles. Lambert Road changes to Carbon Canyon Road as you continue toward the park.

Birders of all skill levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced birders. Come discover what’s flying, singing, and migrating through the park!
