Eastern Sierra Field Trip ($)

Join Matt Schreiner and David Pryor for an unforgettable Eastern Sierras birding adventure!

This weekend offers an exciting combination of diverse habitats, mountain scenery, and opportunities to see birds that are difficult to find elsewhere in Southern California.

Saturday: Meet at 7:00 AM at Diaz Lake, just south of Lone Pine. From there, we’ll travel north along Highway 395, making stops at numerous birding locations throughout the Owens Valley and surrounding mountains. The group will spend Saturday night in Bishop.

Sunday: Meet at 5:45 AM in Bishop We’ll set out early for the drive to the Greater Sage-Grouse lek near Crowley Lake, where we’ll have the opportunity to observe these remarkable birds.

The field trip will conclude at approximately noon, giving participants time to begin the drive back to Orange County.
