San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary monthly bird walk
Join SAS volunteers for a friendly morning bird walk around the ponds of the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine! This monthly walk is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, meet fellow birders, and discover the many resident and migrating birds that call the marsh home.
When: 8:00 AM on the 2nd Sunday of each month
Where: San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary, Irvine
Meeting Point: By the front door of Audubon House
Whether you’re an experienced birder or simply curious about the birds around you, you’re welcome to join us. The walk is open to interested birders of all ages, and there’s always something new to see!
Please note: Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult.
Depending on the season and conditions, you may spot geese, ducks, grebes, roadrunners, pelicans & cormorants, herons, egrets, ibis, birds of prey, rails & coots, stilts & avocets, shorebirds, gulls & terns, skimmers, doves, hummingbirds, kingfishers, woodpeckers, flycatchers, vireos, crows & ravens, swallows, wrentits & bushtits, wrens, kinglets & gnatcatchers, mockingbirds & thrashers, pipits & waxwings, warblers, towhees & sparrows, blackbirds & finches.
