September 22-25, 2022

Birdathon card

The Urban Forest in Huntington Central Park is holding a Fall BIRD-A-THON and you’re invited!

The Urban Forest is arguably the best-kept secret birding spot in Orange County. This out-of-the-way hilltop corner of HCP has emerged as a verdant hotspot attracting migrating Warblers, Sparrows, Vireos, Gnatcatchers and Raptors.

Join a team or participate as a solo birder.

The first solo Birdathoner, or Birdathon Team that spots and reports a bona fide Rare Bird accepted and reported on the Orange County Rare Bird List, will be recognized on the Birdathon page at and entered into the Rare Bird Award Category. Each newly reported Rare Bird Species will qualify for entry into that Award Category.

Recognition Awards will be awarded soon after the conclusion of the event. This is a chance for you and your intrepid team to stand out among the competition!
